His photographic worh concentrates on urban photography and landscape work and published his book “Hidden in View Photography” last year.

His printmaking range from large photomontages of altered landscapes to abstract creations from his own sources producing surreal or imagined landscapes and decorative abstract objects.

He says “Any artform is a personal matter of taste and the interaction of the viewer with the subject matter. My years of study of architectural form through my work has shaped my perception of this subject.”

Also the artist has travelled extensively around the world since an early age. Consequently the many cultures and varieties of landscape have influenced his view of the world.

In recent years he has visited China eight times travelling extensively around that vast country also to Cuba and North Africa which has created opportunities for several interesting studies of work.

He has been particularily inspired by the work of Callahan and very much admire the work of, in no particular order, Steve Hiett, Robert de Gast, Paul Graham and Joel Meyerowitz. In the first 20 years of his work all images were created with his 50 year old Rolleiflex using Kodak VPS or Portra color negative emulsion rated at 160ASA.

Over the last five years his work has been created using digital cameras, films cameras including the Rollei, a 5 x4 Cambo and a 5 x 4 Graflex Crown Graphic. This has provided an interesting accessibility to him for creating his compositions.
