I’m a drawing based artist inspired by nature with a particular interest in insects and butterflies. I am fascinated by their ability to camouflage themselves and this inspires my ‘hidden’ work, I create work that viewed from afar is one image, but on closer inspection it holds a hidden depth. I begin by drawing and painting, initially designing by hand before finalising each design digitally, creating finished digital prints. My work can be applied to many surfaces including wallpaper and lampshades.
I also have a passion for ancient craft, including bookbinding and create one-off hand bound artists books to collate my finished drawings, paintings and prints.
Business wise I have recently set up www.rockingbird.co.uk which is a website for my online business of handmade bespoke lampshades
