Rebeccah Pawley

Bex Pawley, Contemporary Painter

My artistic practice concerns abstract form, colour, gesture and composition reflecting thought process and psychological direction, providing a visual insight into my own personal creative language. My practice is very much process led allowing for a visual history of marks and surfaces.

The subconscious remains the driver behind my painting, yet ‘compositional organisation’ and ‘purposeful conscious will’ remain. This combined relationship allows the process and direction of my work to take on its own visual journey. My work reflects the diversity, energy and busy pace of everyday life in a personal nonrepresentational style. Each mark makes it own history, reflecting different moods through texture, colour and space.

It is my constant creative aim to continue the progression of my style and to immerse myself in each painting so that it becomes a direct reflection of my inner self and the correlation between my erratic psychological being and my personal and purposeful reality.
