My work is a visual response and critique of the world around us; and explores themes of escapism and the notion that nothing is quite as it seems at first glance -upon closer inspection numbers and patterns can be found in the most unlikeliest of places. I wish to create new interpretations of the world as I see it and aim to be thought provoking and innovative in my approach.
My three dimensional sculptures are the living objects that exist within the world that I have created. The technical process used in their construction (cutting steel and welding) is similar in many ways to apply paint with a brush; the welding rod, to me, is a texture giving maker of molten marks and one that has the versatility to make something as solid as metal froth like dehydrated saliva, it can destroy and simultaneously create.
