Carl Hoare

Fine Artist.

Born: 1981, Wimbledon.

British Artist Carl Hoare is a Painter, Illustrator and author who has created over 1000 art works since he first picked up a brush after giving up a degree in fashion in favour of a career in fine art; something the artist has never regretted. Recently, however, Carl has gone back to his roots after creating a collection of Art T-shirt designs for the ‘Underdog Gallery’; in Bermondsey, London. The t-shirt label shares the same name as the space itself-Underdog. Carl retains a passion for fashion. Carl is a self-proclaimed Pop Expressionist, he likes to paint in the bedroom in the some way Stanley Spencer liked to. Carl now resides in Surbiton surrey England.

The greatly respected photographer Paul Postle, who played a prominent part in creating the iconography of 90’s Indie band blur, states:

“Carl’s work is a poignant reminder that our life is driven by events. Emotions can divert us down to the dank, dark parts of town. With Carl’s hand we are introduced to a society of characters with secrets and stories that might give us sleepless nights. But we can’t help but stare”.
