Gemma Travis

My work consists of constructing delicate collaged images, typically made from paper and found materials as I love the aesthetic qualities added texture brings to my work. I love to draw inspiration from past eras and in particular, members of my family, as they are all eccentric and add flavour to my work. I am a keen reader with a huge imagination and can apply this to anything I am working on, as I find huge satisfaction in bringing text to life.

My time at Middlesex University, where I studied Illustration, was invaluable and offered me such great opportunities. I exhibited and sold work at Kingsgate Gallery each year and also represented my course at the D&AD New Blood exhibition. I am also part of a new collective which I was asked to join and we are currently in the process of working on a new and exciting project.
