Lucia Fraser
Fine Artist
Lucia Fraser studied Fine Art at the University of Newcastle, since graduating in 2005 she has exhibited widely in solo and group shows across the UK.
Having spent the majority of her upbringing in rural Cheshire, her work has predominantly focused on the relationship between animals and humans and the natural landscape around her. Since relocating to London she has found inspiration in her changing physical environment which has heightened her sense of identity and self-awareness, this has formed the underlying theme of her new work.
“There is so much to absorb in London, not just aesthetically, but psychologically. I think this is why my paintings are now less about what I see, and more about how I feel. I hope to create visually intriguing work that provides the viewer with an opportunity to respond and question their own surroundings.”
Lucia works in ink and acrylic, using layers of paint and collage to create texture that invites the viewer to look further into her paintings.
Lucia's work is being exhibited as part of our Art Crawl! To see her work come to The Kings Head Theatre, (115 Upper Street, Islington, London, N1 1QN) Opening night 19th August, 7:30 - 11pm.
