This original ink painting is part of a larger body of work entitled 'The Egg Importer'. This work draws on the artist's own paternal family history as he visited, painted and collected memories and ephemera from as many of his remaining Jewish relatives around Europe and in Israel. This head to shoulder portrait has a photographic, yet ethereal and visceral, quality that is reminiscent of the faded pocket snapshots that inspired it.
The painting is mounted and framed with in 1cm black wood frame.
